Krumping is a type of urban dance, sometimes also classified as a kind of street dance-form, that started out in the area of South Central Los Angeles in the United States of America. Krumping involves a lot of very free-flowing moves that can be described as extremely energetic and very expressive. This type of urban dancing also involves a lot of movement from the arms and the chest. Krumping is also now well-known and has been adapted into the world of hip hop and dance culture as a legitimate free-style type of dance.
Krumping is considered to be quite similar in form and practice to older and very traditional types of weapon dances. This is why a lot of black people who do practice krumping consider it to be a symbolic type of dance that refers to their old tribal roots. Dance battling is a modern form of competition for krumping, and is where competitors face-off in a very aggressively presented competition that is almost the same as how older break dance competitions were staged.
Not only is krumping a very unique type of new dance, it is also a great way to work out. Because of the huge amount of movements from all parts of the body, starting from the feet and legs and all the way up to the hands, arms, and shoulders, krumping is quite the complete workout.
